The Destructive Nature of Sin
Summary5 Things That Sin Destroy 1) Innocence (Matthew:18:1-5[1]At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?[2]And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,[3]And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.[4]Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.[5]And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.) 2) Ideals (Matthew:19:16-22[16]And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?[17]And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.[18]He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,[19]Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.[20]The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?[21]Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.[22]But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.) 3) Will (Hebrews:3:7-9[7]Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,[8]Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:[9]When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.) 4) Freedom (Psalms:119:41-45[41]Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation, according to thy word.[42]So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.[43]And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.[44]So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.[45]And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.) 5) Life (Romans:6:20-23[20]For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.[21]What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.[22]But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.[23]For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.)
